You can tell that he agonised over it for days. Tried to be strong, but in the end just couldn’t take it. The fact that he probably spent days hidden up in his room, quietly sobbing to himself and desperately trying to think of a different solution.
That contrasts with once he’s finally made his choice, how methodical and careful he is. He takes his time, because he really means it. He dresses up nicely, not sparing any detail because he knows it’s the last thing he’ll ever do, and it’s how he’ll be found. The whole thing is just… beyond heartbreaking.
All of it is just…god. :’(
